I have completed some research on short films and music videos from the previous year 13.
In Unison:48/50
I liked the idea of the story progressing over a many years. The dialogue and music fitted the short film. The story line also attracted the audience as they wanted to find out the fate of the dance partners after many years.
War Bound: 48/50
The title of the short film gives a good indication of what it is about. I like the track played throughout as it builds tension and helps tell the story. No dialogue is used and it still manages to portray the story as well as the music creates a genre for the film
The Note: 42/50
I thought the plot layout of the short film was done well and kept the audience wanting to know what would happen, however there were a few mistakes made, for example 8pm in the winter would not be that bright.
Odds and Ends: 46/50
I liked that this music video was very different. The lyric translation made it easy to understand the song and helps understand the storyline of the music video also.
Dear Devil: 44/50
I thought that it represented a horror trailer due to the sharp and quick cuts that creates tension. The music built up tension also, however a loud noise made in the trailer was more sci-fi rather than horror.
Phoenix: 48/50
I thought this music video added comedy to the song. The lip syncing was very realistic and the storyline and editing was done extremely well.
Dream: 48/50
I thought that the short film portrayed the message it was meant to put across and the use of music gave it a more emotional feel. It was a very touching story.
