Brief Analysis of In Unison made by Eden Hall

ComicLife Life Aquatic Chase Scene

I used Comic Life to create a chase scene using screenshots from the film "Life Aquatic".
I used 20 different shots to show the characters firstly running on the beach and then coming across a hotel. When they find the hotel they go inside and retrieve something from one of the rooms. I ended the scene with the main character looking very smug as he had gotten what he wanted from the room.

Chase Scene Preliminary Task

Before starting the A2 media work, our preliminary task was to create a chase scene so that we could get used to working with the cameras. I worked with Cory, Taylor and Natasha to create a comical chase scene to the song 'Eye of the Tiger'. The idea was that it would look like a motivational chase, preparing Natasha for marathon.

Amy and Cory primarily filmed, whilst Myself and Natasha ran in the scene. We also had the chance to film in order to get used to the camera themselves. This was done by including point of view shots as we ran. We used a camera and a tripod at different levels and angles around different areas of the school to create our shots. We used various locations, such as different staircases around the school and an outdoors area with a bridge. We filmed over the course of two days and planned to use the same locations and costuming so that the scene had continuity. On the second day of filming, Natasha and Myself were in the wrong clothes so it does not have the continuity that we had planned.

Once we captured enough footage to create the chase scene, we moved the footage from the camera to a Mac and used iMovie to edit it together and include music. We made the scene more comical by increasing the speed of certain shots and then slowing down other shots. For example, at the end when Natasha falls, we copied to footage many times and sped them up, we then gradually zoomed in on each one as she fell. We then faded to music out at the end as it was not the end of the song and sounded better that way.
